The Mayorship of New York has been the key MAIG Mayorship during the reign of King Bloomberg. But with his lordship’s term of office about to expire, who will it be to take the helm? Who will be the new, if perhaps symbolic leader of MAIG? Oh please, let it be him.
Mayor James Schiliro of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, a member of Michael Bloomberg’s MAIG coalition, is in some hot water. Charges haven’t been filed yet, but that’s because police have been rounding up evidence and executing search warrants to fully investigate him for using a city police officer to shuttle a friend to his house, providing alcohol to that minor friend upon arrival, and then holding that underage friend hostage – with three handguns – in his home while his teenage daughter was in the house. He also fired off a round that, fortunately, didn’t hit anyone. (Part of the evidence recovered included a spent casing and what sounds like a section of that floor.)
Interestingly, MAIG has already scrubbed his name from their public lists. They are getting faster at trying to hide their role as a network of criminal mayors.
Apparently, one New York lawmaker is horrified that 11-year-olds might possibly see guns safely displayed and purchased by law-abiding citizens. So she wants to ban that.

She obviously believes that gun owners with kids cannot be trusted since they might possibly pass on that tradition of firearms ownership. To respond to this “threat” that gun ownership may still happen in the next generation, she’s trying to make introducing your children to safe and lawful use of firearms a crime one step at a time.
While MAIG & Mike Bloomberg are trying to make it sound like it’s no big deal for people to find an FFL to handle every single firearm transfer. MAIG seems to be the go-to group for the White House, and yet President Obama has previously called for a ban on any FFL within 5 miles of any park or school.
Below is a graphic I created in 2008 as an example of what such a ban would mean for one area gun shop to show the impact for our suburbs. The areas covered in red would be off limits.
This proposal backed by the President would effectively shut down nearly every single gun store in the nation. While I realize that the gun shop ban hasn’t been in the latest round of gun control proposals, it has been a serious proposal by the President in the past. Considering that the background check bill floated in the Senate doesn’t open up the system for individuals looking to transfer a firearm, but rather forces them to go through FFLs, it isn’t inappropriate to consider whether a future step would be to target these gun shops for closure so that it is nearly impossible to transfer firearms at all.
Mike Bloomberg’s group, MAIG, tells the public that they just want to do things like mandate background checks for all gun transfers. That sounds harmless enough, but then their graphics department creates “scare graphics” to remind people that guns are everywhere and even they live near a gun shop!
It seems as though MAIG wants to promote commercial-only gun sales, yet then they turn around and use scary-looking graphics to remind anti-gun Americans that guns are lurking nearby. They try to tell us that we should only buy from gun shops, but they try to scare the low information voters with the number of FFLs in the country. If this graphic wasn’t meant to be scary, then it would say at the bottom something along the lines of, “So tell those Bible-thumping, second grade dropout rednecks to get their fat asses to their local gun shop when they want to pass that gun on to Toothless Billy Ray.”*
*While not actual language Bloomberg would say in public, it may represent what is actually going through his head.
There is something to be said for not wasting the energy of gun rights activists who only have enough enthusiasm for our issue for a handful of political activities. However, I do also think that there’s something to be said for annoying the heck out of anti-gun lawmakers at every turn. This is especially true of those who live in areas surrounded by anti-gun lawmakers.
Take Rep. Jim Moran. As Jim Geraghty notes on Twitter, his refusal to answer a question from a pro-rights woman in the audience of his anti-gun townhall almost makes it look like the idea of armed women defending themselves from abusive men hits a nerve with Moran or something. Here’s the video:
According to someone I know who attended, the audience was about 2/3 pro-gun. Based on the uproar in the audience supporting the woman, I’d say that sounds about right.
Rep. Moran isn’t a serious political target because he’s very safe (even though he put out a statement on the issue saying that it should just be considered an “embarrassing situation” for the victim – talk about trying to shame female violence victims!), but headaches like this townhall response make it less likely they will have public events on the issue in the future.
He was buying the AR-15, just to show how easy it was. Yeah, and the preacher was visiting the whorehouse to try to convince the girls to give up their life of sin.

Jacob is right. People lie to pollsters about their true opinion on guns? I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you. If this wasn’t true, you’d have handgun bans right now in both Massachusetts and California. What people tell pollsters and what they actually do when they get into the voting booth are very different things.

I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be afraid of black people with guns. I’ve been around armed Black Americans at matches Joan, and never thought much of it. I’m afraid of criminals with guns, and I believe all Americans have a right to arm themselves for self-protection, as is guaranteed by our Constitution. So who’s the racist here, Joan? You’re the one that said I should be afraid, and you’re the one that thought such a thought, so who’s the racist in this debate?
Other gun owners interviewed for this article expressed similar reservations, citing their enjoyment of hunting or of introducing family members to the sport while expressing support for stricter gun control legislation. Mr. Kundu, for instance, supports a ban on the kind of assault weapon that he owns, a rifle manufactured by Panther Arms.
Yes, AR-15 owners who think AR-15s ought to be banned. Does the New York Times really believe this is a deep well gun control folks can tap in order to get support? This times piece strains credulity.
Kundu claims to be a master marksman in Washington State. The governing body for that kind of shooting is the NRA or WSRPA. Most competitive shooters will have match results online somewhere, especially at that level. So I decided I would start digging. If he is truly ranked Master in high-power, someone should have heard of him, or shot with him, and there should be a record. When you do that kind of competition, and are ranked highly, you’ve shot with an awful lot of people in an awful lot of matches. I couldn’t find any match results indicating this guy is a serious competitor, but what I did find destroys the whole NYT narrative. Michael Kundu, who the New York Times claims is the new “middle ground” in the gun control debate, is neither an ordinary gun owner, or any kind of moderate voice.
This is not the first time Kundu has been in the media pitching himself as a self-hating, anti-hunting gun owner. CNN has taken the bait too. So who is Michael Kundu? Well, he was School Board President for Marysville School District who ended up in hot water in the past for writing a racist e-mail as a school board president. Also, as School Board President, he attempted to censor dissenting viewpoints on global warming from being discussed in schools.
Perhaps more telling, Kundu’s associated with Sea Shepherd, who were recently declared pirates by the 9th Circuit:
Johnston’s 1997 stock donation included shares of a company named Northern Development Associates, a for-profit business which is now 100-percent owned by Sea Shepherd.
Corporate records show that the company’s officers include Watson’s ex-wife Lisa DiStefano and longtime associate Michael Kundu.
Sea Shepherd’s own web site says he was Pacific Northwest coordinator for the group in 1997. You can see a profile of him here. Additionally, his activities have earned him the ire of native Americans.
How stupid does the New York Times think we all are? And are we to believe that no one at CNN, or the New York Times, are aware that the new, moderate voice of gun ownership is in fact a radical activist with a group that has been accused of engaging in piracy on the high seas? There is nothing ordinary or moderate about this guy.
