Well Said
Jeff Soyer takes the Philly media and politicians to task over the recent death of a police sergeant.
Quote of the Day
From Bryan Miller, in his comments:
But, as you may have noticed, hypocrisy runs rampant among [the pro-gun] comments. I enjoy reading them because they are so entertaining. I believe most folks find them intolerant, obnoxious and unbelievable. Their so-called passion is so obviously fear-driven it’s pathetic. And, I love the hiding their compulsions behind a ‘rights’ agenda.
He can refuse to take us seriously all he wants, but the ‘rights’ agenda is winning. I do smell fear, but it’s not coming from the pro-gun side these days.
Clinton’s Gun Gaffe
I was talking to Peter, of Firearms and Freedom last night, about the Hillary gun thing. I have to admit this registers pretty low on my give-a-shit-o-meter. The real issue is that Hillary is running on guns at all. It’s like David Duke running on a platform of racial unity. But the fact that the person who designed her flyer took a stock photo of a European rifle, reversed it, and sent it out to the wilds of Indiana, doesn’t rank very high on my list of sins against gun owners. Especially by someone like Hillary Clinton.
Concealed Carry Hysteria Roundup
Some folks [want to be able to carry firearms (link removed due to boycott of WEHCO Media, and their immoral tactics)] in National Parks. Outfits like the Christian Science Monitor don’t want them to be able to, using the same pants shitting hysterics that were used to fight the concealed carry issue last decade. Let’s not forget the Las Vegas Sun too. Of course, the hysteria isn’t stopping at parks. Carry on college campuses are making editorial boards wet themselves too. Then you have guys like this arguing that “Handguns are like alcohol. They give men ‘courage’ they don’t normally have.”
That should be enough PSH for one day.
When you have a last name Milfs …
… you probably shouldn’t be complaining about stores selling things-which-are-not-porn-but-that-offends-me-anyway.
Wal-Mart Descends Deeper Into Corporatedome
Now they are warning people that firearms may be mistaken for firearms, and telling people they may not be able to paint them. I wonder if this was part of the deal with Bloomberg.
For the Children
I like it when Paul Helmke’s posts come pre-fisked. Paul thinks you can make a safe gun. I would argue that a gun is dangerous by nature of its design; there is no way to make a safe gun. You make safe users instead, which the NRA has done more to do than the Brady Campaign can ever dream of.
PETA Knows As Much About Horse Racing …
… as the Brady Campaign knows about guns. Fortunately, Jay is a horse racing aficionado, and has debunked the PETA claims.
UPDATE: Jay has more here.
UPDATE: More from Marshall Manson.
Why Do We Need Guns in Parks?
Because otherwise Coyotes will eat your children.
