The Brady Campaign is already spinning this election as a victory for “sensible gun laws.” ‘Fraid not Brady Campaign. Number one issue cited by Sportsmen this election was the economy. Guns were not even an issue this election. At all. That didn’t help us. In the end, Barack Obama’s tactic of running as far away from gun control as possible was a winning strategy for suppressing the gun vote.

Actually, an Obama administration will not have to grab any guns; the Supreme Court will now do it for him. On his watch, all the old liberal Justices can safely retire. Ginsberg, Breyer, Kennedy, and Souter will all be able to hang it up now – knowing that their replacements will be vetted leftists.
As soon as Kennedy and one more liberal (probably Ginsberg) have been replaced, the Heller ruling will be re-visited, but next time the vote will go 5-4 against us “gun nut” people, and the “individual right” will vanish in a cloud of legalistic smoke. History.

The Brady anti-gun group is run by Republicans – always has been, always will be.
There are a huge number of gun-owning Democrats who have been in contact with the DNC and the President-Elect to educate them on the issue.
There is nothing to worry about.

While the current president of the more-aptly named “Brady Campaign to Prevent Lawful Gun Ownership”, Paul Helmke, is the former Republican mayor of Fort Wayne, Indiana, his predecessor, Michael D. Barnes, is not. Barnes was a Maryland Democratic congressman from 1979 – 1987, and I really doubt that he switched party affiliations just before becoming the Brady Bunch’s president in 2000.
Your entire factually-challenged, ignorant, and inflammatory post seems so typical of all the other pro-Obama trolls I’ve been seeing all over the web since the Democratic primaries.
Are you next going to try telling us that there won’t be a new “assault gun” ban (Look up H.R. 1022 before you even begin to think of any smarmy retorts to this question.) getting railroaded through the House and Senate in 2009?
To put it simply, the Democratic party cannot be trusted with protecting our Second Amendment rights, period, which have absolutely NOTHING to do with our hunting rights, by the way. If they do, then please show me where the words “hunt” or “hunting” can be found within the Second Amendment.
President-elect Obama will be no different than any other Democratic president within the last 45 years on Second Amendment issues – he has not yet even once gone against his own party on ANY issue, and this time, he will not have the option of just voting “present”, like he did about 137 times while he was in the Illinois State Senate.
As president, I will repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Biden and I favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn’t have them. We support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. We also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

Before you actually get inaugurated as the president of these United States, I favor the commonsense measure of you actually proving your status as a NATURAL BORN American citizen by fully releasing your own sealed Hawaii state birth records to a court of law, rather than just posting some forged digital artwork on one of your campaign websites, along with dubious endorsements thereof from friendly media outlets and so-called “fact-checkers”, as the purported “proof” that you were actually born at either one of the two hospitals which were in existence in 1961 Honolulu. (Your half-sister Maya has said that it was one of them on one occasion, and the other one at another, while your family in Kenya has a very different version of events.)
He was born in Hawaii. The Hawaii Dept of state certified his birth in that state.
Sebastian, don’t you find it just a bit odd that the “certification” you are referring to, one which occurred with no cameras present, occurred in short order just after Obama visited the state capitol of Hawaii, Honolulu, the week before election day, supposedly to see his ailing grandma on her deathbed, yet his wife and kids didn’t go along with him? This was the same woman who raised him, yet he rarely ever seemed to visit much in her later years, not even when he took a family vacation in Hawaii last summer. It’s not like his wife and kids had better things to do, or lacked any funds to make the trip. At the most, his daughters would have perhaps just missed a day or two of school, and I don’t really think Michelle Obama was working at any kind regular job during Obama’s campaign. I got yanked out of school by my parents to see dying relatives and attend their funerals several times while growing up, but maybe that was just the way I was raised or something.
On top of all that, Obama’s grandma dies just before election day, but not even in the same week of his final visit with her, which likely garnered some sympathy for him among the electorate irregardless, undecided voters included. The Obama-sycophantic media practically foreshadowed the timing of this woman’s death in the way Obama’s 11th hour trip to Hawaii was reported by them during the week prior to election day, too.
This is all rather quite convenient now for Obama, if you consider now that nearly every familial relation of his, who could have been present for his first day in life, is now deceased, save for those who are still over in Kenya and/or living as illegal aliens in these United States.
No, I don’t find it odd. Even if he was born in Kenya, his mother was an American citizen. If he didn’t qualify for the presidency, than neither would McCain have, since McCain was born in Panama.
