Tool of the Week

This guy left a comment on my blog stating:

I’m an NRA member, have a concealed carry permit from the state of Ohio, a .45 Smith & Wesson I carry for protection and I have no qualms voting for Obama. When you say there was nothing incorrect in the NRA ads about Obama’s history you’re wrong. I cleared up the misconceptions here:

I welcome any gun owner to watch that and debate me on the points.

Dude, did you even bother to actually check this guy’s record?  If you don’t believe he’s got it in for gun owners, you’re a tool.  I’d be happy to debate you, but it’s kind of pointless when the guy’s record is staring at you in the face as plain as day.  It’s not my problem you don’t want to hear it.  Does it even bother you that your chosen candidate apparently think it’s an acceptable campaign tactic to threaten the broadcast licenses of anyone who says things about him that he disapproves of?  Is this the America you want to live in?  His blog is here if you want to go have a talk with him.

  1. Watch the vid and you will see no reason whatsoever to waste time “debating” this fellow.

I am glad he’s a responsible gun owner and carries lawfully … these are good characteristics. But on the Obama 2A position he is woefully, if not terminally, misinformed.

  2. Stupid is as stupid does.

This man is not an idiot savant, just an idiot with a self-approval rating higher than his IQ.

Some debates are worth it, even if you can’t get someone to come over to your point of view. You and the other will learn something useful.

Not going to happen here, move along folks, nothing to see…

  3. I think he’s drunk or brainwashed. Dude, step away from the bottle and turn off the TV!

  4. Let me see, Obama was against concealed carry permits for anyone except active military and ex-law-enforcement for his entire time in his home state. He has spoken against it repeatedly, and in length. And this is supposed to be a good thing?

Nationalized concealed carry reciprocity? Fat chance of that. Concealed carry in parks? Yeah right.

Add to that his already stated (on his own bloody webpage) intentions to work towards a permanent “assault weapons” ban, and anyone who thinks Obama is pro-gun-rights is either Darwinianly stupid, or has been living under an Everest-sized boulder for the past ten years.

  5. There was a day when people were content to be stupid in private. Thanks to the ‘net we can all share the moment with this dude.

welcome to the new america where stupid is a fashion accessory

    sigh

  6. This CCW permit guy from Ohio tells the rest of us here to vote for Obama simply because Obama will make America “better”.

Wow – what a compelling “argument” there. If that’s the best he can muster, he can keep the “change”, “hope”, and all these other Marxist/socialist/communist/ platitude buzzwords and catchphrases that the Obama-lovers like to babble on about.

    McCain/Palin 2008!

  7. Democrats and the liberal left wrote the book when it comes to voter fraud and election-year chicanery, which is what makes me suspect that what we are seeing here in is nothing but a paid political hack in action.

How much did the Obama people pay this guy?

  8. It is my understanding that Ohio is a state which must be won by a candidate in order to win a presidential election. This is why I think there was some bickering over some issues at the polls in some parts of Ohio on election day during the 2004 presidential race between Bush and Kerry.

Considering the above regarding Ohio, and the fact that Barack Obama has some serious credibility issues over his true stances on gun control and the second amendment, I find it just a bit suspicious that now all of a sudden, we are seeing a white male gun owner and CCW permit holder from Ohio who is also saying that he will be voting for Barack Obama in his blog and his video on Youtube.

The timing of all of this is rather convenient for the Obama campaign, if nothing else.

  9. It’s good that he’s a NRA member…but do we need gun owners who are blind and refuse to see reality?

  10. I tied to leave a comment but was not comfortable to leave my real email address so it did not get posted

  11. RAH:

Instead, write a brief letter to your senator, representative, or perhaps for your hometown newspaper. That effort will surely carry more influence than posting on “Gun owners for Obama” blogs.

  12. It’d be interesting to see if the NRA could check and see when he joined the NRA – assuming he IS a member

  13. And another goober who thinks his NRA dues go towards political uses, which they don’t.

  14. If anyone actually believed that Obama supported the right to keep arms, the VPC and the Brady Campaign would NOT be endorsing him.

  15. This guy has been posting this all over Digg, StumbleUpon, etc. I think he has got to be the most gullible gunowner in the US. If Obama is elected, I’ll be looking to him to say “What went wrong?” after the first anti-gun bill passes.

  16. Yuri,

I think he is a plant from the Obama camp. To me, this guy going on Youtube seems like the next step they’d take after their efforts to intimidate media outlets into pulling the NRA’s anti-obama ads from broadcast failed.

  17. Perhaps his position on Obama has something to do with the name on his sweatshirt – REDS. Afterall, Obama seems to have quite an affection for anything red like Ayers and socialism.

  18. Was it Just me, or did he have his booger hook inside the guard each time he picked up his .45? I was hoping that the video would have ended with him NDing into the camera.

  19. He is not a gun-owner, or an NRA member, and he doesn’t have a CCW. Just more pro-Obambi astro-turfing. Either paid, or an Obama fanatic, or both.

Whenever someone claims to be a hunter/gun-owner/NRA member, and starts a victim-disarmament spew or starts supporting a victim-disarmament candidate, you are almost always dealing with a non-gun-owner anti.

Once in a long while you find a Fuddite supporting these positions, but they are easy to spot. This dude ain’t one of them.

Obama fanatic is my guess. Obama’s camp would probably prefer to pay someone who didn’t look and talk like he was stoned. Do you know for sure he’s not a gun owner, NRA member, or CCW holder? I really want to know, because if someone started digging, that’s a worthwhile bit of info to update folks with.

  22. I still suspect he bought those for this purpose … he is either an astro-turf ‘tard, or suffering from deep Fuddite syndrome.

One of the Ohio rags was kind enough to publish the state’s CCW list … we can find out easily enough how long Gerald Scott Isaacs has had a Butler County CCW.
