Future Potential Illegal Mayor Arrested

Even the candidates for mayor who turned out to promote MAIG/Organizing for Action/Ceasefire PA events are being arrested this week.

Pittsburgh mayoral candidate A.J. Richardson, who participated in a MAIG press conference last week, was arrested this morning after he was found slumped over the wheel of his minivan that was stopped on a street with the engine still running. He was charged with driving under the influence.

Do we call this new class of criminal Bloomberg associates the Illegal Wannabe Mayors Against Guns?

The good news is that MAIG won’t hold any conviction against Richardson if he manages to win and wants to join Bloomberg’s network of sketchy mayors. I mean they promote Vaughn Spencer, mayor of Reading, PA, who was convicted of violently assaulting a police officer and caused him to suffer lifelong disabilities, so a DUI picked up during the campaign shouldn’t be a big deal at all.

  1. Despite sending the Spencer story to Fox, The Blaze, and SAF you’re the only one who will write about it. It’s strange that an organization that pride itself on it’s background check stance would either not check it’s own members or would allow a violent felon such as Spencer to join it’s ranks. Spencer’s conviction makes him a prohibited person.

  2. I’m starting to agree with Tam: If they’re going to treat us like criminals for owning firearms, maybe all the MAIG members should be preemptively arrested. Their rate of criminal activity per capita is FAR higher than general America, and doubly-FAR higher than gun owners (especially CCW’ers) specifically.

Though I’d add that prospective MAIG members probably also should be preemptively arrested, just to make sure.

@Doug: If Spencer weren’t a prohibited person, he’d likely not be *quite* as willing to strip others of their rights. Makes it easier for him. From a comment by Rob Crawford over at Thirdpower’s place: “No one with good intentions wants to disarm other people; only those who know their actions will be resisted want to render people unable to resist.”

  3. I think you may want to start referring to that organization by a slightly different name:

    “Illegal Mayors Against Guns”

Just keep calling ’em “IMAG” after a struck-out “MAIG”, and people will get the point.
