A surprisingly fair editorial from the Chicago Tribune ripping the city for screwing around with the courts trying to defy the Second Amendment. He notes this seems an awfully expensive endeavor for a city facing the debt Chicago has.

It was written by a columnist, Eric Zorn, who has long been quite level-headed about the issues surrounding gun rights in Chicago.
Recall that after the Heller ruling, the Chicago Editorial board called for a repeal of the second amendment.
