Can’t Take the Snow

A North Carolina man who moved to Pennsylvania got tired of having to dig out his car this winter, and ended up brandishing a gun at the guy operating the snowblower. Unbeknownst to him, apparently the snow blower operator was strapped too. Yet somehow this did not result in a shootout. If you believed the Bradys, the snow would have run red with blood that day, because clearly people can’t resist shooting each other. This guy pretty clearly needed shooting, and yet the legal gun carrier in this confrontation exercised restraint.

  1. People generally don’t want to shoot anybody.

As S.L.A. Marshall noted, you can hand somebody a gun, train them to shoot people, encourage them to shoot people, and even promise them medals for shooting people, and even then they usually won’t unless their life is directly endangered.

  2. I thought he was getting a better break than he did by taking the misdemeanor plea, but a second class misdemeanor in PA carries enough possible jail time to make him a prohibited person until such time as he completes his sentence and successfully has his rights restored.

  3. The only way he can have his rights restored is through expungement, which is better than a felony, which requires a pardon.
