Rendell’s Departing Words to Us

Despite having screwed us on Castle Doctrine, Rendell thinks his gun control efforts are a failure:

“It’s a lost cause in Pennsylvania,” Rendell said in a conference call with reporters. He accused the General Assembly of kowtowing to the National Rifle Association.

“The legislature proved consistently in my eight years that they are scared to death to buck the NRA,” he said. “It’s incredibly frustrating, the hold the NRA has over the legislature. It’s embarrassing.”

Yep. Let’s keep it that way.

  1. I hope he doesn’t burden our state pension system for too long! Good riddance, you hairy gorilla!

  2. Yea sure, blame big bad NRA Rendell. Never mind that the people don’t want gun control. I hope we can get Castle Doctrine next year, then I’ll be able to “shoot first and ask questions later” =P

  3. As much as I complain about the NRA, I have to defend them here.

It is NOT the NRA holding power over the PA legislature. I am not the NRA. A number of people that called, emailed, faxed the PA senate and house were not NRA. I don’t know if the people on the ground in H-burg were all NRA members or not.

This was the will of the people. Were there lots of NRA members that called, emailed, faxed, and showed up in H-burg? You bet! But this was not the big, bad, NRA all on it’s own.

    Agreed!

But woiuld you agree they had the deepest pockets? It’s about the money. NRA has more.
I just sent them another 50.

I would agree they have more. I sent my $ to FOAC. They need a lot more than the NRA.

It’s your money, though. What you do with it is not my decision.

  6. Funny how it never occurred to him that his real problem is that his own position is completely at odds with what the voters want. Typical.
