I’ve seem those “create your own nation” books . Maybe the tribe should collectively go in on one. :)
Never fear a shutdown of government. Those are scare tactics mixed with a little discomfort to get the public behind them. They dare shut down for fear that the populace will actually realize how little they really need them.
Think about it, for every benefit no longer being provided, someone in the private sector can do it better and cheaper. For every benefit not provided hundreds of restrictions will be unenforceable. No, my friend they dare not shut down, of they lose decades of usurpation of powers not rightfully theirs to begin with.

I agree with you. Rendell tried this little stunt and it lasted a day. I do think they worry people will realize most of what the government does doesn’t matter.
