We’re Bigger than Golf!

In terms of sales at least.  Not too surprising, really.  Guns are more expensive than golf clubs, and ammunition costs more than golf balls.  You can only accessorize your golf bag so many different ways.  I’ve said before, it’s not a sport for people who don’t have money or time, because it takes a lot of each.

The other difference is there isn’t a small well financed, vocal, and dedicated group of  activists who are looking to ban golf clubs in the hopes of one day living in a fairway free society.

  1. Well, environmentalists usually oppose golf courses. But they are not exclusively dedicated to wiping out golf.

  2. Priced drivers lately? My recently acquired 4″ XD45 was cheaper than the TaylorMade R7 in my golf bag. (Luckily, I bought it used).

Guess which one gets taken to the range more? (Hint, it goes boom)

I wonder which one Tiger Woods (a reported shotgun fanatic) spent more on? One Perazzi shotgun can buy a heck of a lot of Nike stuff… (That is, if he had to pay for any of it).

  3. Maybe there should be such a group. After all, “A golf course is the willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range”

  4. We can’t blame the golf club manufacturers for targeting their most profitable market of right-handed golfers, but it is quite difficult for those golfers who play left handed to find the selection offered to the mainstream players.
