Again with Misdirected Anger

Latest quote from Andy Parker is “They messed with the wrong family.” Who’s they? The murderous scumbag who actually messed with your family saved the taxpayers the trouble of a trial by offing himself as the police closed in on him. I did not mess with your family. Neither did the NRA, or it’s 5 million other members. We didn’t do anything except express our opinions and advocate for a cause we feel is important. By the same token, I’m not responsible for every drunk driving accident because I oppose alcohol prohibition, and think 18 year olds ought to be allowed to buy a beer. Would you blame the other NRA, the National Restaurant Association, if he had used a meat cleaver? Exxon if he used gasoline? Would you go further and say that people who drive and consume gas, or people who have a meat cleaver in their home kitchens “messed with the wrong family?”

Look, I’m sorry your lost your daughter. I really am. If I could go back in time and stop it, I would. But I didn’t mess with you, dude. I didn’t do anything to you. And I’d sure appreciate the same courtesy.

  1. Yeah, pretty clear Parker declared war on NRA and then he says “[NRA] messed with the wrong family”. From his rhetoric it is pretty clear he blames the NRA for the murder of his daughter.

What an ugly legacy of scapegoating and witch-hunting he leaves in the name of his daughter. Well screw him.

  2. Are we seeing a paranoid persecution complex?

    Or narcissistic bluster?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this guy’s primary gun control demand, so far, to mandate background checks at all gun shows?

Which given that the perp that murdered his daughter, again correct me if I’m wrong, did not purchase at a gunshow *and* did pass a background check.

This also puts his statement that he’s buying a gun in a new light…

He might as well be demanding a machete ban and saying that Knife Rights will regret messing with him.

  3. Well, I guess it makes sense that he “mess with the wrong people” right back. “Wrong people” as in people who had nothing to do with it.

  4. The girls father is a hypocrite.

2 weeks ago he didn’t give a s&9t about gun violence now it is his mission to stamp out other people’s freedom.

  5. This girls father is a failed nobody politician who literally is dancing in joyous celebration in the blood of his daughter at the fact that someone might actually listen to him. Rather than sorrow at her tragic end and gathering with family to mourn his daughters death he has come out of the blocks time and again from the very get go with perfectly crafted (well, not perfect. But clearly professionally crafted) talking points and a well planned campaign to raise his personal profile first and his anti gun profile second. Heck, one of the first things he did wasn’t criticizing the gun bigot Sen Tom Kaine (D-VA) and Mark Warner (D-VA) for not doing enough. No, he felt compelled to issue press releases and then go on TV within 24 hours to criticize them for having some common decency and deciding not to intrude on his families privacy and mourning by making public phone calls expressing sorrow and having a press conference to highlight this insane fathers desire to be Bloombergs new toady.
