Osama is Dead

Still trying to work out the news reports here on Osama Bin Laden’s death. But I think President Obama deserves just credit for this moment. He did not pull out. He did not surrender. The firefight seems to have been deep into Pakistan, which I think is not to be dismissed.

The lesson here is that if you fuck with us, we will hunt you down, and it doesn’t matter how long it takes. This is a great day for all Americans.

  1. So, is Pakistan going to apologize for shielding or protecting him, either directly or indirectly? He was living in a compound outside of Islamabad, I understand. It does not improve my opinion of Pakistan in the slightest.

  2. I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but, burial at sea right away sounds too convenient.

  3. Unemployment is still above 8%, inflation is doing a warm up to the marathon it’s about to run, the dollar is collapsing, we’re still fighting 2 or 3 wars, the muslim brotherhood is leading the revolt in the middle east, our debt ceiling is about to become unlimited.

Sure, we won and Bin Laden lost…

Lets not forget the TSA, DHS, National Security letters, warrantless wiretaps, and too much other freedom reducing crap that came about from Bin Laden’s actions.

  4. Not only close to Islamabad, but in the heart of Pakistan’s military elite–their version of West Point is basically down the street from the MANSION he was living in. No wonder the action was unilateral.

Can we stop giving Pakistan money now?

  5. As a deterent effect on other would-be Osamas, shouldn’t we have buried his corpse with a dead pig?

  6. Nicely put, Sebastian. This is a day for congratulations & celebration. We can get back to sniping at each other with pea shooters some other day.

    Go Seals!

  7. Obama dead, and buried at sea – from the same people who had us go to war to find Iraq’s WMDs. I wondered when they were going to bring out their boogie man again.

Whatever. Does this mean we don’t need cavity searches to get on a plane anymore?

  8. Hello, it’s my first posting on here..
How long until retaliation? The Terrorist SOBs arent going to let this one go..

  9. Slover, last night WAS the retaliation.
We’ve been retaliating for 10 years now. The lack of re-retaliation from the the islamofascists isn’t for lack of trying.

Those people retaliated over cartoons, over a fake rumor about a book in a toilet, over a book burning. Why would you you think they have a super-special reserve retaliation planned?

No worries. You aren’t bringing bad news … only a conspiracist perspective that will be brushed aside by most of us in light of the various lines of evidence identifying the body.

  11. Something to keep in mind though–those Demotrash chanting “USA” weren’t cheering Osama’s demise. They were cheering *our* demise to come. Osama was just a tool for them to get there.

  12. I’m not generally a believer in conspiracies, but I have to admit that my first reaction to the news that he was dumped at sea was “yeah, right!”.

I have yet to watch any tv news today and all I have to go on is what I heard on NPR this morning. The spokesman’s voice had a bit of ” they’ll never buy this crap” tone to it when asked what happened to the body.

Either way, I don’t care. You can only kill people, not ideas. There will be another guy lined up to take OBL’s place and another lined up behind him.

  13. I was at a metal concert when I heard about it. I was actually surprised. Mostly because it was so out of the blue. 9 at night.

But what ruined it for me is a freind of mine. 9/11 denier, NWO, NAU, Amero, all that stuff he believes. He then basically says osama is not an actual person, he was created by the CIA in the 90’s to give uis an excuse to go into the middle east to force a middle eastern union like the European union or the North American union which doesn’t exist.

  14. I will give President Obama props for carrying on the Bush/Cheyney legacy.

We can’t water board, but we can assassinate. (Situational Morality alert)
    I am for both BTW!!

I bet Jack Bauer was there. Tick, tock, tick, tock…

  15. Sorry buddy, the Bush/Cheyney legacy was invading and occupying Iraq while Bin Laden ran around Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“I don’t know where he is. I—I’ll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.”
    -President Bush, 2002

  16. The good news this week is brought to you by the letter “W”. Waterboarding, Wiretapping, and War-on-Terror.

The tip came from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who was famously Waterboarded, the courier he named was then Wiretapped, and the SEALs brought the War to the Osama bin Laden and killed him.

    Thank you “W”!

  17. Can Mr. Obama at least take credit for “inheriting” this from Mr. Bush? That was a double-edged comment. I credit both administrations with authorizing these brave, incredibly skilled and dedicated men to persevere until they got their man!
