I note that it implies (to me) that their idea is to “trick” the people into accepting particular while they are distracted, overly-emotional, or generally not thinking straight.
It’s statements like these that make me know these people are the enemy. Not just well-intentioned but misguided … but a tricky, crafty enemy to be defeated now and again, and to always watch like a hawk.

Pretty much. I’ve watched Republicans for years try to give at least some bipartisan inches, like they thought if they just played nice and “didn’t stoop to that level,” that Dems would do the same. Nope. Republican isn’t even my favorite party, and they’ve certainly done their share of crap over the years, but Democrats are simply on a whole other level of nastiness and deceit and whatever other rhetoric I could use to describe them. I think the Democrat Party motto is “The end justifies the means.”
