I’ve been noticing a noticable trend of the use of *automatic* when describing firearms in these types of editorials.
Is it just me?
That’s been happening for years. It’s the old Josh Sugarmann snow job. He’s the one who hatched this whole assault weapon bogey man with the famous quote:
Assault weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons –anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun– can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.
Wait until they find out that the NRA also cares about shotgun and pistol rights, not just rifle rights!
As lies go, that one is pretty darned idiotic.
