After a very good interview on Cam & Company on Friday, Sebastian has an update about his permit to carry woes in Maryland. I think he’s successfully put the corporal in an uncomfortable political spot, and if I were a betting man, I’m guessing he gets his license in the end. I’m glad I live in Pennsylvania.
I certainly wish him luck. What we need to fight crime are more Sebastians, not more silly gun control laws.
This incident illustrates why we need a federal “shall issue” permit. You sucessfully complete the training, you pay your application fee, you pass the background checks, you get your permit – period!!! No pencil-dick can hold it hostage just because he doesn’t like your haircut or his roids are bothering him that day.
Except that the federal government has no authority under the constitution to issue any such permit. The most they could do would be to use the 14th amendment to invalidate state laws like the one Maryland has.
I would think it appropriate if we could expunge the trooper’s birth certificate. No, I don’t mean kill him, just make him an official bastard instead of just an officious bastard.
