Charles Bronson is the guy in charge of Florida Department of Agriculture, the agency in that state responsible for issuing concealed weapons licenses. He apparently doesn’t appreciate the Daily New’s distortions that his agency hands out permits like candy to criminals in Pennsylvania. I don’t blame him. The reason that we have reciprocity with Florida, and the reason people like me have Florida licenses, is because it’s more widely recognized. The reason it’s more widely recognized is because its standards are more similar to other states, and more strict then Pennsylvania. This fact is seemingly lost on the Daily News. The only reason it may not be more strict than Philadelphia is because Philadelphia is routinely breaking the law when it comes to issuance of LTCs.

He’s been a good commissioner- among other things, the time for CCW permits has come as low as 2 weeks. Nice to know that the gent in charge of issuing permits believes in what he’s doing. I would have happily voted for him for governor.

I honestly hadn’t noticed that the Florida Department Agriculture is run by a gentleman named Charles Bronson, but I always enjoy renewing my CCW with the Department of Agriculture, not the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
When I was having my issue with getting my permit on time, his office called me directly (at the behest of Charlie Crist, but still).
I learned a lot that day about Mr. Bronson and how he has worked hard to maintain our rights here in Florida.
I live down here in Florida and I laugh everytime I read one of the inspection stickers on the fuel pumps at a gas station. It doesn’t exactly say it like this, but I always read it as “This pump must start at zero… OR FRICKEN CHARLES BRONSON WILL COME KICK YOUR ASS!!!!”
