  1. In the ‘wild west’, people could defend themselves when fired upon. As it stands now, a freighter off the coast of Somalia is just an unarmed victim-in-waiting. It figures, though, that the Euro-weenies are perfectly satisfied with that arrangement.
    (And it always pisses me off when someone who’s probably never even been to America describes a situation where guns are present as, ‘The Wild West’. To Brits, it seems, anything that makes noise and/or disturbs tea-time is ‘wild’.)
