Connecticut Magazine Ban Dies in Committee

John Richardson has the details. I don’t think this speaks well for our opponents chances that even Northeast states don’t seem to want to go there. Apparently there were more than 200 people that showed up to the hearing, many testifying against it. Democracy works for those who show up, and we do more than our opponents.

  1. Testimony ran non-stop for over 12hrs. There were so many people there that they had to set up a second waiting hall with a monitor for people to watch. While there were over 200 people testifying, many more just could not stay. One friend of mine testified after 10pm, and his speaker # was in the 400s. So probably another 200 people showed u, signed up to speak, and for whatever reason didn’t. The Connecticut Citizens Defense League has a sample of some of the testimony up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/ccdlinc Phil Axelrod is one speaker listed there, I thought he really made a great impression on the committee. I you only want to watch one video (ok, 2, ’cause it’s in 2 parts) watch his.

  2. I liked Eric’s testimony the best, but everyone else did admirable jobs in a likely-nervous environment, too.
