Being a resident of Missouri, I was a bit disturbed by that report when it came out. I understood some of the thinking that went behind it, as there have been nasty shootouts with White Supremecists and just plain criminals with the Highway Patrol, usually on a ‘routine’ traffic stop. But to just label 3rd party bumper stickers, Don’t Tread On Me flags, etc, as militia without any supporting evidence was flat out propaganda.
I find it very interesting, the timing of this and the similar DHS report. Right on the eve of Tea Party rallies. I suspect, in part, they were trying to get some on-the-fence people to notice, and say “Oh, I didn’t know THOSE types were part of this, maybe I better not go after all.”
