Update on New York Microstamping

I’m getting a report that it was tabled in the Senate. I will provide a link as soon as I can.

UPDATE: Yep. Jacob confirms it. It’s been tabled. This doesn’t kill it, but it’s off the agenda for now. Doesn’t look like they liked how the vote was going. Good show New Yorkers!

  1. It’s unsettling how quickly they’re tried to push this law through the state process. I’d like to see what type of comments were made on this bill by those who were for it, they were likely full of anecdotal evidence and heart filled intention but as usual lacking any real substance or reason. New York has fallen a long way along with most of the North East, I’m glad I got out while the getting was good.

  2. Something is wrong with Mayor Bloomberg if he thinks that the right to own a gun as guaranteed in the constitution places you in a special interest group. I’m happy that they tabled micro stamping although i wish they’d flushed it. NYS has already wasted over 50 million on the ballistic fingerprint system that in it’s 10 year run hasn’t solved one crime. What a colossal waste of money. But lets instead follow it up with a more expensive similarly ineffective bar code system that only leads police to the last legal owner, not to the criminal. As we all know the legal gun owner doesn’t commit crime!
