That’s interesting. I’m guessing there was no WWI monument due to post-war disillusion. I believe the common sentiment was that the U.S. was suckered into The Great War by war profiteers and British special interests. That’s why FDR had such a battle to get the U.S. involved in WWII, because of lingering post-WWI isolationism.
