Defeat for Gun Control in IL

The RKBA movement is becoming extremely effective at keeping Daley and Blagowhatshisname’s agenda at bay.  Maybe they’ll soon be able to start reversing losses, and we can hit them with a combined strategy of litigation post-Heller, and grass roots action.  Armed and Safe told us yesterday that Daley would make his move on the anniversary of Virginia Tech (this date is a refuge of scoundrels everywhere it seems).  Well, it would appear Daley has gone down in flames.

Illinois is a good example of how effective we can be when NRA and its state affilate work together and are effective together.  It’s a pity Pennsylvania’s state Rifle and Pistol Assocation are mostly useless politically.

  1. I live in Illinois. The problem is that we have to fight these things year in and out. The same bills will be back next year. They only have to win once.

Until pretty recently, I would have characterized ISRA pretty similarly (actually, I did characterize them similarly). Lately, though, they seem to be getting both more energized and smarter.

Much of that change I attribute to a few hard chargers at Illinois Carry.

We have a long way to go, and as Dan says, we’re doing our fighting with our backs at the cliff’s edge, but I feel pretty good about the direction we’re heading.

  3. My wife has a job interview with ADM Corporation, and being a firearms dealer I was doing some extended research on the gun laws in Illinois. I am scared to death, and now have to more than likely put my business on hold for 3 damn months to transfer. And even then I am not sure I want to make Illinois my home if they have already banned firearms in Chicago. (cook county) I cannot believe that even after 48 other states have passes a conceal and carry law, that the state of Illinois seems to be so reluctant to pass the same. It has been proven to lower crime, and we can see in places such as Chicago, and over seas in England, as soon as you take the right of the citizens to protect themselves, violent crimes and home invasion sky rocket.

It is all to sad that states and cities can trample on the peoples rights given to them by the constitution and nothing happens. My wifes job could pay enough money to almost make it worth the move, but when it comes down to it, I would rather be safe and free than oppressed by liberal policy makers hell bent on burning the constitution, and taking away freedom in the name of safety.
