  1. That was painful to watch. A terrible thing, to have to confess to thoughtcrime and make amends.

      1. It really irks me when people say stuff like this. No, he shouldn’t move here. He may be a gun guy, but then when he gets here maybe he’ll say “But the NHS was free back home – they should have something like that here.” Or “But they’re just looking for a better life, letting them stay is really the right thing to do.” Hell, I watched the whole video. The guy seems fully cucked, even if by learned helplessness.

People in formerly great Britain already screwed up their country. And they would have screwed this one up too if our forefathers didn’t get tired of their shit. People in NJ did the same thing. NY too. And even gun owners in those places voted for the commie nonsense they’re trying to escape now. So I get the sentiment. “They’s gun folk, just like me.” Yeah, great. So become penpals.

We should be downright hostile to more commies coming here. We’re full.

        IMHO. YMMV. IMDb. Etc.

        1. The individual is not a member of their population.

Gratuitous insults don’t advance the cause.

          1. Gratuitous insults don’t advance the cause.

Neither does adding more commies. And why does nobody ever say “Man, we need more Texans”? Or Oklahomans? Or Missourians? It’s always people from NJ, NY, Londonistan, etc. Why is that?

            1. You are painting an entire people who we should keep out just because of where they are born or live. If person who has been beaten down by the government because they just want to own guns, then let them come here. We need them.

No, we need people with a healthy appreciation for freedom. We don’t need cucked Limeys, or Fudds, or more commies, or MS-13 members, or anyone else who happens to like guns but sucks on most other issues.

                  1. I know a few Limeys who have a stronger appreciation for American freedoms than most Americans.

Exactly. We need more Charles C. W. Cookes, not cucked Limeys who make videos apologizing for their wrongthink.

                    1. Charles C.W Cooke was a “cucked Limey” at one point:

Insofar as I was political at all, as a teenager I was probably of the Left. As my mother puts it, I had “some pretty funny ideas” in my awkward phase, and I found the aesthetic of socialism and of leftist rebellion to be pleasing. The National Health Service made perfect sense to me when I knew nothing else, and I believed the politicians who told me that it was the “envy of the world.” I wasn’t really sure why anybody “needed” a big military, and I instinctively sided with those who would have traded guns for butter. I never questioned whether global warming was real or inquired as to the motives of those for whom it was an obsession. I didn’t like school.

So yes, we need people like Cooke who may only like guns and don’t understand the rest of their belief system is wrong. They will come here and understand.

You’ve proven my point so eloquently. Thank you.

                    2. So yes, we need people like Cooke who may only like guns and don’t understand the rest of their belief system is wrong. They will come here and understand.

Except that he understood before moving here, instead of coming here to be decucked.

Is it like a broken bird syndrome thing or something? Why the fascination with people who need to be deprogrammed vs. people who won’t further erode our values – and might even help try to deprogram commies (like Cooke for instance).

You know where people from NJ and NY can go? CA. Or MA. And cucked Limeys might find it more inviting in Australia. Ermergerd, so much gun freedom in Australia (vs formerly great Britain)! Not as many places to get a good curry though, but if enough cucked Limeys move there, that problem can be solved easily enough.

                    3. Except that he understood before moving here, instead of coming here to be decucked.

LOL okay buddy. I’m sure one video is all you need to know about a person. Its their entire life, and they can never change their mind.

Is it like a broken bird syndrome thing or something? Why the fascination with people who need to be deprogrammed vs. people who won’t further erode our values – and might even help try to deprogram commies (like Cooke for instance).

Because you are assuming the need to be “deprogrammed” and that they will “further erode our values”. Very bad assumptions indeed. This person could be the one to help “deprogram”- just like Cooke. You want to just throw them out because they don’t agree 100% with us. I want them here to help. You way will lose us the battle. Mine won’t.

You know where people from NJ and NY can go? CA. Or MA.

Only if they are anti-gun. If they are pro-gun, I want them here.

And cucked Limeys might find it more inviting in Australia. Ermergerd, so much gun freedom in Australia (vs formerly great Britain)! Not as many places to get a good curry though, but if enough cucked Limeys move there, that problem can be solved easily enough.

If they oppose gun rights, they can go there. But if they support gun rights, I want them here.

This is basically your argument: ERMERGERD THEY ARE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY AND ARE ICKY, KEEP THEM OUT.

                    4. no, his whole argument is yelling “CUCK CUCK CUCK” over and over again, because god forbid people who are pro-gun don’t also agree on EVERY OTHER ISSUE.

i care about gun rights. people who will help us on that issue are welcome. people who aren’t can stay where they are. not decucked enough because i’m not simultaneously demanding “correct thought” on non-gun issues?

        2. I am also irked by people leaving States they have destroyed (whether they be in America or abroad) and then come to vote for the things they voted for in the first place to destroy their original State.

Not all people who flee failed States believe that they need to repeat their failure here, though: as others have observed, they can be even *more* determined to establish and preserve freedom than even most Americans. Indeed, I suspect that, for all the humility displayed in the video, there’s a burning “I know you’re forcing me to say this, just so I can exercise a semblance of my rights, but I hate you for this” inside this person.

People will necessarily flee oppressive regimes. I have often wondered, “What are we doing to teach the refugees just what it means to be free?” We need some sort of inoculation process to neutralize these infections, because like it or not, they *are* coming here, because they can’t stay where they are anymore. They NEED to know why they are fleeing — and we NEED a way to teach them. And considering that they are refugees at this point, they should be at least SOMEWHAT receptive to this message.

So, what are we going to do about this? I’m asking seriously, because I’ve wondered about it for years.

Having said that, I’m still partial with the argument that NJ/NY/CA/Great Britain folk should stay and fight where they are…but then, there’s only so much fighting you can do before you decide it’s time to throw in the towel, and go somewhere where freedom is actually appreciated….

  2. It can happen here, but I don’t think it can happen so easily. I think that may have been demonstrated by the way that guy in the video was willing to eat a mile of shit, and as Ian put it, “confess to thoughtcrime.”

The essence is that despite being sterling practitioners of the rhetoric of liberty and freedom, there have been as few cultures as respectful of class and authority as Anglo-Saxons. Witness the survival and adulation of their royals.

There really has been no culture of gun ownership in England. It was incipient in the late 19th century, but suppressed fairly quickly in the 20th century. The roots of that absence have been both economic and social. Guns were largely beyond the economic reach of the masses, and there was little incentive to own them. Hunting was in practical terms forbidden to the masses because game was owned by the nobility, both in absolute terms and in terms of access to the land where the game could be found.

In military terms, I was struck by visiting one of the great estates, and seeing the preserved armory with hundreds of Brown Besses in the racks. In the past, a noble of that rank was required to maintain and supply at least a company of troops, to defend not only their own estate, but to defend the monarch, on demand. But those muskets were in a noble’s armory, not hanging over the mantles of the tenant-soldiers’ cottages. (The British compensated with more concerted live-fire firearms drill for enlisted soldiers, than most other countries — the Brits could afford it.)

Possibly the greatest penetration of firearms into commoners’ society was when mass-production made handguns more cheaply available toward the end of the 19th century. But then that became more restricted, probably beginning with the 1920s vintage “Red Scare,” which reflected the nobility’s fear of an increasingly restive population of commoners. That had somewhat of a rational basis, considering what had happened to the noble class in Russia and Germany. But, it was a largely obedient population that made the basic restrictions possible, even then.

I think my bottom line is, the bad news is, it can happen here, while the good news is, it probably can’t happen the same way it did in England and other Anglo-Saxon derivative countries.

    1. I have to agree with you about the royalty respect that Great Britain has, but I have to disagree with you as well: many of the freedoms we enjoy to this day, and expect to be respected, originated from Anglo-Saxon law. That *includes* the right to Keep and Bear.

Great Britain is at this weird spot in Europe: they managed to develop freedoms that no other European country had, yet they also had that historic respect of authority that can be found in Europe as well. To a certain extent, you can still find both traditions in Anglo-Saxon countries, even if respect for authority has taken priority over respect for freedom.

What made America different? The fact that we had a frontier that forced us to be individualistic. But even we have an American tradition of Puritanism, that encourages us to get into other people’s business….

  3. What was amazing about the video (I watched only 2.5 min) was how willing this British ‘subject’ was to accept being treated as a man without rights. If I were in his place I would simply get whatever firearms I felt I needed on the black market, and live as a free man. But Im an American not a British serf

  4. Oi mayte ya got yer youtube channel shutdown license permit certificate of authorization from the chief inspector constable? And ya bettah have a grovelling permit for that video too, bruvuh!

    1. Interesting pictures. I think they illustrate how deathly ill the UK gun-culture was even as far back as 1992.

Consider, that shooting range which one which the Royals preferred. Yet the rifles used for the boys were American and not British, a Remington Nylon 66 and a Ruger 10-22.

  5. Geez…maybe he should have been blinking out ‘torture’ (ala Jeremiah Denton) in that video…it sure feels that way.
