Truer Words Have Never Been Spoken

David Burge on Social Media:

The background of his multi-part Twitter rant is that someone gave him crap for posting hot rod pictures while the world burned. Yeah, that would set me off too. His entire rants speaks to me more than I wish it did. Go to his feed  and start at /1

  1. That was a great little rant, I’ll do him the favor of not following him. I think that’s how he’d prefer it lol.

    1. I’m not on Twitter, but I enjoy the things I see from IowaHawk every now and again. I think he’s right, though, that we’re probably going to be seeing the implosion of social media.

At least, the social media like Facebook and Twitter, that make it difficult to compartimentalize how we share things…

  2. I stopped logging in to Facebook back in early October after I started despising friends whom I know to be good people…because of their nonstop political posts. I’ve never been a Twitter fan, so I’ve never even created an account. After Trump won, I made it till the new year and then deactivated FB altogether. F-that. I don’t get irritated at life as much anymore, and I don’t spend half my work day “fact checking” all the garbage I read. Life is good, and I just play with my kids instead of wasting time on the internet.

  3. I think you guys are correct about a future where this shrinks rapidly. I had (have?) an FB account that was only used to look at the odd post from family or whoever – I never used it to post my own junk. Over the last two years friends, family and acquaintances have all gravitated away from the social networks and back to old fashioned direct comms. That means I have not used the FB account in something like two years.

But now it’s not uncommon for me to get 70-100 text messages in a day. People are posting random shit to text now. Oh well. It’ll sort out.
