Zimmerman to Sue NBC

Over their hack job on the 911 audio tape that made him sound racist.

   Time for NBC to settle. In my former life in television management I’ve been sued for far less egregious screw-ups by a reporter or editor and lost. An there is no way that this can be considered anything but a deliberate attempt to stir public emotion against Zimmerman.

   Even if NBC thinks they can win this one, the cost of the negative publicity will be huge.

   If I recall, we still don’t know if any meaningful discipline was taken in the case of the tape editor and news producers and reporters at the root of this.

   Hopefully, NBC will end up paying enough to cover all his legal costs, plus enough to be a penalty for the damage they did to his reputation.

   Maybe it will be enough to sink NBC after their history of distortion and falsity and tape-editing.
