Update on Batemen et al v. Perdue

From No Lawyers, Only Guns and Money. Bateman is Alan Gura’s case in North Carolina challenging their emergency powers law which makes guns illegal during times of emergency. It’s a good update. No Lawyers, Only Guns and Money is is a new blog, only a few months old, but the content has been pretty good from what I’ve seen so far. He also notes that Benson has had September 1st set as a hearing date, but the judge assigned doesn’t look particularly appealing.

  1. Thank you for the kind comments about the blog. I started it right after the NRA Annual Meeting. I’ve been reading blogs for years and thought maybe I should do more than read. Michael Bane told me in Charlotte that blogging is a disease and he may be right. I know my significant other (aka The Complementary Spouse) feels like a blog widow at times!

The title of the blog comes from the Warren Zevon song “Send Lawyers, Guns, and Money”. Since I’m not a lawyer but a practicing financial planner, I thought it was a way to combine my interest in financial planning and firearms into a blog. Lately, the money part has come second since so much has been going on in the gun world – Chicago, Westchester Cty, Bateman in NC, etc.

Until I started blogging, I didn’t realize how hard it is to be original, on topic, consistently good, and timely. I have a new found respect for you and the other bloggers who have been doing this successfully for years.
