Did They Get Into a Batch of NRA Fundraising Letters?

I really have to wonder if Washington Whispers, a feature of US News & World Report, got their information for this article from an NRA fundraising letter. The “NRA hit list” they cite are the kinds of things I’d expect NRA to scare me with if they wanted me to send them money.

  1. It was a fundraising or recruiting letter of some kind:

In a new membership letter sent nationwide after the Supreme Court’s decision to let Chicago residents own guns, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre wasted no time warning that Congress and the administration have plans to attack gun owners.

The fact that the author truly believes that a standard recruitment letter provides an “insider’s view” is laughable. That reflects a truly sad definition of journalism.

  2. NRA spokeswoman Vickie Cieplak will be live on News Talk Online on the Paltalk News Network on Monday July 12 at 5 PM New York time to answer questions about the recent Supreme Court ruling striking down Chicago’s anti-gun ordinance.

Cieplak will also talk about efforts by the city of Chicago to work around the court ruling –and a new lawsuit that the NRA supports that challenges the latest city ordinance. To talk to Cieplak just go to http://www.joinchatnow.com. Registration is free.

I’m hosting the chat. Hope to see you there!
