Where I IIVE IN THE STATE IT TAKES EVERY BIT OF 30-45 MINUTES FOR A POLICE MEN TO REACH YOU. ITS NICE THERE HERE TO PROTECT YOU BUT THEY CANT DO YOU ANY GOOD IF YOUR IN REAL DANGER WITH THEM TAKING THAT LONG TO REACH YOU.BESIDES THAT WHERE IM FROM THERES ONLY 4 OR 5 STATE POLICE TO COVER 20THOUSAND SQUARE MILES.

“Walking on a street or going through a shopping mall,” he says, “we are protected by law and by law-enforcement officers,” and that’s preferable to giving lethal force to individuals.” Huh???

First of all; NOBODY is protected by the law. The law merely prevents one from being injured by only those who choose to obey the law.

Secondly; One is protected by law enforcement officers only if they are present. A law enforcement officer in a patrol car a block away or eating donuts two blocks away is only good for investigating your homicide. That’ll do you a world of good.

When seconds count, cops are three minutes away.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy to carry.

Get this castle doctrine passed and the law fixed.

We have it here in OK. If I am being threatened on my property, I am free to blaze away. Now, with no witnesses around, I wonder how that would work in court???

Right on. ‘We are protected by law and by law-enforcement officers..’ I’m sure the victims at Fort Hood, Virginia Tech, et al are greatly relieved.

And, the police actually have a much higher standard to reach before they can use deadly force. If someone breaks into my home, even if I must retreat, I do not need to ask for compliance. The cops must ask for compliance.

But as Cemetery says, the cops also don’t have the responsibility to protect anyone…

How anybody can use the line *We have the Police to protect us*, even after the many times Courts have ruled that the Police have no duty to protect the people, and have others actually believe this, boggles my mind.
