Boyfriend and girlfriend were hopped up on drugs. The boyfriend pulled out the revolver and pointed it at her forehead. She didn't believe he would fire, so she looked directly into it. She was wrong and the bullet neatly split the two halves of her brain. She told the police that she had an awful headache when they showed up and it apparently took a bit of time for them to figure out what happened. There's a lot of redundancy in the brain -- if the bullet misses all of the major blood vessels then there's a good chance of survival. This is why they teach head-shots to the ocular-cranial window -- not the forehead -- you need soft tissue to get necessary expansion. One shot through the aorta, though, and it's Goodnight Gracy.
