  1. Oh boy………Thank God I am from the South……… :-)

After seeing that, I wouldn’t issue anyone in Jersey a handgun permit either!

    LOL!!

  2. well after seeing this video, I for one am glad that i can’t afford the ammo to shoot myself anymore

  3. Hey baby…..dis is my kind of place…this is why we are called the Garden State capice????

  4. Well, that’s six minutes and fifty-two seconds of my life I’ll never get back.

    Thanks, Sebastian….

  5. Damn. Almost makes me want to move back.

    Not.

Bad enough I have to drive there tomorrow. The boy wants to bring his air rifle to show grandpa. Better make sure he doesn’t have any assault BBs.

  6. These people seem like a combination of the worst parts of upper-class white trash (Manhattan) and lower-class white trash (the stereotype of hillbillies).

  7. Yup, that’s why I got the hell outta there after living there my entire life. I left 4 years ago and never looked back.

And it’s not “Bennies”, is BENNYs. For those that don’t know why, BENNY is an acronym coined in the 1950s-1960s for the place where most of the Jersey Shore summer crowd comes from:

    B – Bayonne
    E – Elizabeth
    N – Newark
    NY – New York

My random fact for the day… :D

  8. Heh. I’ve been the benny, and I’ve been the guy sitting there watching the labor day traffic heading back north yelling “Bennys go home!”. I’ve also lived down in south jersey where we had “shoobies” (the people from Sabastian’s area) instead of bennys. Seriously, NJ as a locale has a lot going for it. Almost perfect 4 seasons. All kinds of varied terrain; mountains, ocean, rural farm lands and big cities. All within an hour or 2 drive. If it wasn’t for the F’ed up political climate and the related problems I might still be there.

  9. Quoted from Mopar:
“Heh. I’ve been the benny, and I’ve been the guy sitting there watching the labor day traffic heading back north yelling “Bennys go home!”.”

Yup, I’ve been to many a “Bennys Go Home!” party, all held the 1st week after Labor Day. Wasn’t a shore boy myself, but lived in Monmouth/Ocean counties my entire life, within 20 minutes of the shore, until I moved to PA.

  10. Someone sent it to me. I didn’t find it.

I’ve also lived down in south jersey where we had “shoobies” (the people from Sabastian’s area) instead of bennys.

That was my grandparents, until they moved down to Barnegat.

  11. Worst part about the Jersey Shore is the poop brown color of the water. It was all I knew until I saw a Florida beach and was like “Holy shit, the water is blue. What’s up with that?”

  12. Well I have to be honest……….if everyone from Jersey would leave North Carolina we would throw a party too! I think I can say the same thing for Florida too….LOL!

  13. “In general, even drunk beach kids in other states are better than 50% of New Jersey residents.”

I can agree with that. Indeed I would say that the entire enclave of BENNYs are responsible for turning South Florida into the abject sleaze bag toilet bowl that it is now. The funny thing is that everyone I talk to complains about how everybody from Jersey keeps following them out of Jersey! In truth, I have met some stand up people from Jersey, but unfortunately- the bad outweighs the good……

  14. I’m sure there are good people in NJ, but it’s still the Armpit of America.

The accent alone is capable of making someone physically ill. I could only watch a small portion of this punishing video.

  15. Rio, you missed the best part then! The best part is at the end when you meet a fine, upstanding Jersey family that oozes class. It’s laugh out loud funny.

  16. And that is why I’ve been living in the state for 17 years and have gone to the Shore once. (and that was in Wildwood when I was visiting a friend who grew up there.

  17. Lived in Jersey all my life. I won’t go near the shore in the summer. I went to HS with losers like that; couldn’t stand them then, still can’t. The shore in winter is cool, though; completely deserted, just you and the ocean.

Mopar’s right, though, without the people, NJ would be a great state.
