Weird Damage on .308 Brass

Weirdly Damaged .308 Brass

This brass shows a powerful dent on the side, in addition to striping up by the neck, and appearing to extend all the way down the chamber.

  1. Gentlemen,
That is the proper operation of an HK-91 or G-3 rifle…fluted chamber and dent from ejection port. HK used to make a buffer for US shooters who reload, but militaries do not care about reloading. An HK of this type might eject up 90 feet from the port, which it was said prevented “position disclosure”.
