Being beholden to just one party as the defender of our rights is not a healthy long-term strategy. In the perfect future, both parties will pander to us like they do to the AARP. I suspect that many NY dems find her largely irrelevant. The Gillibrand information is good news, indeed. She might not be a Coburn or Vitter ... but she sure as hell isn't a Clinton, or a Schumer, or a Kennedy.
