"but start pointing out the fallacies, and all of a sudden you’re the right wing nut case. In some companies it can get you fired."

Yup, that's why I'm glad that pointing those things out at my work is no biggie since the partners, my bosses etc.are all conservatives.

Michael Bane said something to that effect in his most recent audio podcast - downrange radio, I think it was. Worth a listen.

We should keep in mind that when we open our mouths, we are ambassadors for 2A advocates of any stripe. This is not said to discourage opening our mouths (which needs to happen more now than ever!) but as a reminder that we need to present firearms ownership as a normal thing, as everyone's right, and just as important as any other right. You can ask someone "what rights are you passionate about" and then let them know that the 2nd is certainly at least of equal importance.

Something I've been cogitating on lately - the phrase "reasonable, common sense laws" (you'll hear that a lot) can be quickly translated to "capricious and arbitrary" and applied to other rights, for illustrative purposes. Also, what other rights require paperwork and permitting? That's another way to get the point across.

Yeah, work is tough.

No one thinks twice about spewing some nonsensical liberal BS around the water cooler, but start pointing out the fallacies, and all of a sudden you're the right wing nut case. In some companies it can get you fired.

Part of the problem is that libertarian types are live and let live people. Socialists are not.
