My range is BYOP(ins). It worked out well recently that my company was involved in demolition of a building with a bowling alley built in, so I was able to swipe some pins before demo started.

Same where I'm going. I'm trying it for the first time, so I'm brining two different wheelguns with me, a .357 Magnum and a .45 ACP revolver. According to Tam, shooting my 70 year old Smith & Wesson at a pin shoot makes me badass, and I just can't resist that kind of temptation.

BTW Sebastian, the range Mr. C invited me to is out in the middle of nowhere, and all the lanes have high berms (12'-15' I'd estimate). I doubt they have issues with ricochets.

For me, I now know better than to go into a bowling alley while armed. The target rich environment will be too tempting.

My club is in the middle of a suburban area, a few miles outside of Philadelphia. They used to have shoots, but the chemical plant next door kept finding bullets in on their property, so they had to stop. Maybe Mr. C can offer some advice on ricochet management.

Never done bowling pin shooting???

You're missing out. They're great reactive targets and will stand up to pistol rounds quite nicely. They will penetrate but usually lodge inside, causing it to move around quite a bit.

Plus, at least here locally, the bowling alleys replace their pins on a scheduled basis and give the old pins away for free! The only problem is you have to get on a waiting list to recieve the freebies because so many others have discovered that shooting a pin is more fun than hurling a heavy ball at it.

I joined Mr. C at his last pin shoot. It's challenging and a lot of fun. I highly recommend you give it a go.
