It’s good that people are arming themselves to be prepared to defend their families from predators but it is sad that they have to get a permit to request “permission” to buy a gun. That is simply a tool left over from days of old where people needed permission from the Sheriff to buy their gun so that the Sheriff could pick & choose who was worthy of owning a gun. Anyone want to venture a guess as to how many non white folk were given a permit in days of old?
It is far past time to get rid of all of such legislation based on racism that was never removed from the books. It isn’t as if criminals go in & ask for a permit in any case – they just buy their gun from their source on the street on the black market the same way they buy their drugs.

You do not need a permit to buy a gun in PA. You just need a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
