Ed Rendell Thinks America Not Ready

Not ready for a black man to be President.

Gov. Ed Rendell, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most visible supporters, said some white Pennsylvanians are likely to vote against her rival Barack Obama because he is black.

“You’ve got conservative whites here, and I think there are some whites who are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate,” Rendell told the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in remarks that appeared in Tuesday’s paper.

Seriously, that’s almost disgusting enough, and insulting enough to my state, to make me switch my registration to Democrat to vote for Obama. Who are you to say Pennsylvanians are racist Ed? You’re a Jew, and we elected you, didn’t we?

Thanks to Wyatt Earp for the pointer.

  1. Dude, you’ve been to central PA. Some of those people seem to think that PA seceded in 1861.

  2. Well, sad to say I’ve heard someone say “I guess I’m going to vote for Hillary. I’d rather vote for a woman than a _______” (you fill in the blank)

It just floored me that people could think that way. And it was someone our age, not my grandparents age.

    *boggles*

  3. We (Philly) voted for that scumbag four times – twice for mayor and twice for governor – and he couldn’t have won without white conservatives. Then, we voted for that political abortion John Street – who is black – twice, and Michael Nutter – who is black – once. Again, they couldn’t win without at least a decent amount of white conservatives.

Oh, and I’m sure many in Western Pennsylvania voted for Lynn Swann for governor . . . he’s black, too.

Ed Rendell is a piece of garbage. His reign of terror cannot end soon enough.
